Lisa's Laughatory is a Bart Simpson story that appears in Bart Simpson #79.

Synopsis

"After Lisa applies her study habits to the art of pranking, Bart has a little familial competition for the title of "Class Clown.""

Plot

Lisa wins the April Fool's Day contest in Springfield Elementary School with a simple whoopee cushion, which annoys Bart for her jokes did not make him laugh. Lisa decides then to learn how she can be more funny by doing pranks and she starts studying classic pranks. After several hours of studying, Lisa finds a prank that she wants to test out the next school day. At school, Lisa is going to throw a water balloon at Martin but she realizes that she does not want to do it and interrupts the pranks and runs away with the balloon. Bart chases Lisa when she is holding the water balloon and he is happy that she wants to prank with his school mates but Lisa says she just can not do it. Bart convinces Lisa then it is normal that she wants to play with Martin after he came first in the spelling bee, and she came second. And when Lisa asks him if it's okay to do these pranks with all that goes on her nerves, Bart responds that it's okay.

Lisa begins to do pranks with her classmates and teachers but Bart realizes soon that just Maggie is the only good Simpson now. Bart tries to get Lisa to stop doing the pranks in school, but she refuses because she likes taking the role as the school clown but when Lisa does not get chosen as a representative for the school team in the Interschool Academic Demathlon because she has been doing pranks, she realizes that she has become worse in math. Principal Skinner lets Lisa still join the team after she allows Martin to teach her math. Martin and Lisa practice math for a whole night before it's time for the competition, where Springfield students meets students from Shelbyville. Shelbyville responds first and correctly to all questions and wins. After the prize ceremony, Lisa discovers that they had all answers written on their pens and she tells this to Martin. Martin asks Lisa if they should turn them in, but she tells him she has a different idea, but she's too late, Bart has already done a prank on them. Bart tells Lisa that he did not do it because they cheated, it was for the attitude they had on her. Lisa tells Bart that she is not a prankster but he is. Bart tells her that he's happy to hearing it and so does Martin.
