I have a question isnt there any articles that ever get added to this wiki--24.76.9.100 20:31, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

The wikipedia articles about the simpsons are better than this.--Andy mci 16:46, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

It's very new, and we're not aiming to compete with Wikipedia. This site is for all information Simpsons fans need to know, not for general encyclopedic information. If you can think of a way to improve it, please get involved and do that. Angela talk 04:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

I saw this last week and the featured article and episode were the same. Who is in charge of changing them?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.43.70.233 (talk) 15:03, November 23, 2006:You are! Actually, any registered user can edit the main page, so if there's something you think should be featured and the last one has been up for a while, please be bold and change it. Angela talk 16:26, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Who likes the index on the front page? I tryed to organize the site by grouping things together. (Metnever 14:13, 9 March 2007 (UTC))

It looks very clear. Angela talk 20:42, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

A suggestion

You could probably import articles from wikipedia here. There's an amazing list here with links to all articles. All the articles are also pretty good (structure, content) and of course, GFDL, so you can easily import them here, along with a lot of other stuff, and then improve upon them. Cheers! --Shreshth91$ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-| (Shreshth91) 15:11, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Remember to use Template:Wikipedia if you do this. It's best not to just make a straight copy, but to adjust it to include information that can't go in Wikipedia like trivia and other details. Also, the red links will need to be removed if they're not pointing to articles that should be on this wiki. Angela talk 15:23, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Usefullness

I would like to question the usefullness of the Wikisimpsons. It seems to me that the Wikipedia articles about the simpsons are better than the ones in here. I am wondering why this still exists.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.125.121.57 (talk) 02:44, April 16, 2007:The scope of this wiki is much larger than Wikipedia. If you compare the 14000 muppet wiki pages to the few hundred articles on Wikipedia on the topic, you'll see there is quite a difference between what an encyclopedia can cover and what a whole book on the muppets could cover. One way to understand the difference is to see Wikipedia as the encyclopedia and Wikia as the rest of the library. Angela talk 04:18, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

The Funny Wiki

Can The Funny Wiki please sponsor this wiki? I love the Simpsons. (P.S. No I am not a spammer. I just want to be an affiliate.) {{SUBST:User:The thing/sig}} 21:53, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Hmm?

I've been reading here, and a lot of the articles are just copies of Wikipedia articles. How many articles here are not copied from Wikipedia? --TheMaskedMeerkat 04:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Tagging Images

I just uploaded a picture and it seems to be the perfect image to tag, but fo some reason I cannot. Could someone else? It is the second picture on this page:simpson family —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mhavril39 (talkcontribs) 00:33, August 3, 2007: What do you mean by "tag an image"? --Vu2c 20:07, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

If you were meaning to turn the image into a clickable map, I´ve done it for you. Sorry for all this mess, is that I´m not used to reading this terms in English. --Vu2c 20:35, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I think they meant the new image tagging feature, but I'm not sure why it wasn't working for them. The image map on that page looks great though. Good idea. :) Angela<staff /> (talk) 21:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Has anyone noticed that the main page is called no nigarzz aloud?? Kingcjc 12:40, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

someone called Ninjakingdom renamed Edna Krabappel to F**K S**T!!!!!(S**T with loads of I's) and The Simpsons(homepage) to NO NIGGARZZZ ALLAWD!!!!!. I renamed them but wouldn't it still link to there. - Sgtcook 12:45, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Renaming Main Page

Right now, this wiki isn't doing very well on Google. It comes up as #3 in a search for "simpsons wiki", under Wikipedia and another Simpsons wiki. On a search for "simpsons", it doesn't come up in the top 300. Google is a major way for readers and contributors to find the site, so it would be great if we could improve this.

One technique that's been really helpful on a lot of wikis is to rename the main page to something that people would be searching for -- in this case, "The Simpsons Wiki" or just "The Simpsons".

As it is, the main page will rank very highly for people who are searching for "Wikisimpsons"... but nobody ever looks for that. Renaming the main page will help people find us a lot easier.

What do folks think about that? Should we do it? -- Danny (talk) 17:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah we should it would help us get more visitors and members as you are correct that no one would search wiki simpsons Kingcjc 19:20, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
good idea (Sgtcook 17:33, 19 December 2007 (UTC))
Great, thanks! I changed it to "The Simpsons". That should help. -- Danny (talk) 02:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
The Simpsons is actually helping we are now number 1 on the google top 300 if you search Wikisimpsons.Dr. Ralph Wiggum 13:45, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
