Maggie's Crib is a Bart Simpson Comics story that appears in Bart Simpson #75.

Synopsis

While practicing her sax, Lisa finds an error in some sheet music from school. When she can't figure it out, Maggie solves the problem with some quick pencilwork.

Plot

In the band room at Springfield Elementary, class is letting out and Mr. Largo is handing out sheet music to the students (among them Lisa) as they leave the room. After Lisa gets home, she goes to her bedroom, sits at the foot of ber bed and sets up the music on a stand. Maggie crawls into the bedroom and sits on the floor next to the bed to listen.

Lisa starts playing and both she and Maggie enjoy the sound of the music. However, they are shocked when Lisa abruptly hits a sour note on her saxophone. Perplexed, Lisa checks her sax, then the music, but doesn't see what the problem is. Still puzzled, she goes downstairs and makes a phone call (possibly to Mr. Largo, to ask about the music). Maggie follows Lisa partway downstairs; then, after Lisa becomes engrossed in the phone call, she goes back to Lisa's bedroom.

Maggie climbs onto Lisa's bed and has a look at the music. Evidently, she spots the problem immediately, as she smiles and then finds a pencil and makes some changes to the sheet music. She climbs back down and sits in her spot on the floor, looking very pleased with herself, just as Lisa returns.

Lisa appears annoyed, but apparently is determined as well, as she sits back down on the bed and starts playing again. Maggie listens raptly, making directing motions as Lisa plays. Lisa gets to the bad spot in the music and is pleasantly surprised to hear that everything sounds fine. She stops playing and pumps her fist in triumph. Next to the bed, Maggie stands up and takes a bow.
