Shadow Box is a story featured in The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror From Beyond the Grave.

Synopsis

Maggie defends herself when her shadow tries to kill her.

Plot

Maggie is crawling through the house, with her shadow on the wall next to her. Her shadow suddenly rises up on the wall and takes on a menacing appearance, crouching over her and reaching out toward her with clawed fingers. Maggie senses the shadow's movement and quickly stands up and turns toward the wall to see what is happening, but the shadow acts even more quickly and resumes its normal appearance.

Maggie continues crawling, and as she passes by a table with a candle on it, the shadow grabs the candle and brandishes it over Maggie, about to hit her with it. Maggie again stands up and turns toward the shadow, and this time she catches it in the act of swinging the candle at her. Maggie, thinking quickly, blows out the candle, thus plunging the room into darkness—and making the shadow disappear. The candle falls harmlessly to the floor, and Maggie continues crawling, but now without her shadow stalking her.
