Malibu Stacy: The Musical is a musical play about the Malibu Stacy doll. It was written by Waylon Smithers. Smithers co-starred in the play, along with an unnamed actress who played Malibu Stacy.
History
Smithers wrote the Malibu Stacy musical and got the production booked into a theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico when he asked Mr. Burns for time off to be in the play and "make [his] dream come true". Burns granted the request, even though he made fun of Smithers for making a musical about a doll. In due time, the musical opened in the Albuquerque Theater. In the scene from the musical that was shown, Smithers and the actress playing Stacy were on a stage filled with life-sized Mailbu Stacy accessories. Seated on the hood of Stacy's Corvette, they sang the song "Sold Separately" as a duet.
Most of the audience seemed to enjoy the play, but when the song was finished, one bored-looking man gave his wife a dirty look and said, "This is better than a movie -- Why?"
