Welcome!

Wiki.png

Hello, Teyandee, and welcome to Wikisimpsons!

Thank you for taking interest in our wiki. If you have any troubles, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other any experienced editors' talk page. Also, you could look at a help page.

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Again, welcome! TheHomer 19:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Moving from Wikia

Hello. Actually, Solar Dragon chose ShoutWiki as the new host. You could ask him. I think ShoutWiki is better than Wikia mostly because the skin is better. — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 19:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I chose ShoutWiki as the host after having discussions with staff via email. They seem nice for one, nicer than Wikia staff by far. The skin is far better than the new Wikia skin as well so any host over Wikia is good.

I think ShoutWiki also offers more freedom. It is fully customisable and we would be able to use css hacks to make it look different if we wanted without going against any policies.

Also, if you found a wiki on ShoutWiki, you get steward rights, this means you can remove bureaucrats and even change bot rights while Wikia disallows this. It is also far cheaper than self hosting and there are very few ads, even for logged out users.

I hope this helps in your move, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:44, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I think I will move here. As long as they help me to register - my wikia had 21 characters in it`s name and there is a limit of 20 for subdomain here. Teyandee 14:54, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
