Lyrics[edit]

Tip's in the jar,
Grateful we are.
Praised be your name,
You've raised the game.
Some give us zip,
It's such a rip.
Shame them with song,
They're in the wrong.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

"Tip's in the Jar" is a parody of the Christmas carol "Carol of the Bells". "Carol of the Bells" was chosen to be the parody song because the producers thought it was public domain. However, they were wrong and had to pay for use of the parody song anyway.[1] At the time the episode was released, only the music (which was composed earlier than the lyrics) was in public domain.
