The Itchy & Scratchy Show Episode Information
Season: 2
First appearance: "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge"

"Kitchen Kut-Ups" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show.

Plot[edit]

Itchy and Scratchy are wearing chef outfits and fighting in a kitchen, hitting each other over the head with meat tenderizers. Then Itchy has Scratchy pinned to a table with four cleavers jammed through his white coat. Itchy tries to stab Scratchy with a fifth cleaver, but Scratchy dodges by frantically moving his midsection back and forth. Itchy finally scores, stabbing Scratchy in the chest. The scene then cuts to Itchy chasing Scratchy with an eggbeater.

Reactions[edit]

Maggie, imitating the on-screen activity, hit Homer over the head with a mallet and later attempted to stab him with a pencil. The incident prompted Marge to ban Itchy & Scratchy from the house and write a complaint letter to the show's producers. When she received an insulting reply from Roger Meyers, Jr., Marge started a protest movement against violence in cartoons.
