Tattoo You is a comic story featured in The Simpsons Summer Shindig #6.

Plot

Bart and Homer are looking at a shop window of a tattoo, A sailor passes them and shows them his tattoo which makes Homer want to get a tattoo. Bart reminds him that Marge was not happy when he got a tattoo, but because Homer is an adult he decides to make a decision for himself. But before he tells the news for Marge he wants her be happy and he gives her a bouquet of flowers. He then tells her that he wants Marge's name tattoed over his heart. Marge tells him to do so if it would make him happy but he must first see a doctor so they can see if his heart can handle the stress. Marge tells Homer that when they do the tatto, they inject ink under his skin with 50 to 3.000 stabs per minute, which scares Homer. Marge tells him that he also must have a reputable tatto artist who stelizes the equipment throughly so he do not get any transmissible diseases, which makes him even more scared. Homer looks after someone to talk about the tattoo and decides to talk with Lisa. Lisa tells him that she heard Marge making a doctor appointment to see if he can handle the stress and she tells him that he should do that for it's time fo a check-up anyway.

A few days later visiting Homer, Dr. Hibbert checks his chest, reflexes and nervs. And it's looks fine, Homer wonders why he's doing this, but remembers that he's doing it for Marge, who he loves very much. Hibbert then does a blood test on Homer but has problems finding a vein so he has to several needles so at in the end looks like he had a little tattoo on his arm. Hibbert tells Homer that the tattoo he wants is 45 times more painful than the blood test was. Homer then has an X-ray and he hopes that something is wrong so he will not have to do it but he also hopes that nothing is wrong because he loves Marge. Lisa then enters the X-ray room and watches the X-ray of Homer. Homer is worried this is a lose-lose situation. After the X-ray is performed, Hibbert takes Lisa away to look at the results of the X-rays. Lisa comes then with the result that Homer doesn't need to do the tattoo, because his heart is good and Marge's name is already on it. Lisa showing the X-ray of Homer's heart and it's written "Marge" on the heart. Homer tells what happened to Marge and she tells him she knew it was "Homer" on her heart. Bart asks him why Lisa cheated Homer and she tell hims that she doesn't want to see his chest every ten minutes to see a tattoo and Bart agrees.
