piwik

The information under "Referrer Websites", "Search Engines" or "Keywords" gives "There is no data for this report" and "Feedburner statistics" has an error message. /AleWi 12:05, 8 January 2013 (EST)

Which website is this for? I checked out both Svenska and the English site, and both are showing data for those reports. The "Feedburner statistics" was just a sample module that has since been removed from Piwik. I've removed the link so you won't get the error any more. --Jake 11:51, 9 January 2013 (EST)
Both, for me. /AleWi 11:54, 9 January 2013 (EST)
There is never any data available any more. Clicking on any keyword or any referrer website returns "There is no data for this report." Also, the top keyword search is always "Keyword not defined" for some reason. There is an update for Piwik, whether that will help or not, I'm not sure. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 12:19, 9 January 2013 (EST)
Ok, so something is definitely going on here. I'm able to review those reports without any issues. If I may ask, which browsers are you two using and are you using any pop up or ad blockers? If you are using a pop up or ad blocker, I would try disabling it for simpsonswiki.net and seeing if that fixes the issue. I know my pop up blocker sometimes prevents javascript from functioning properly and that may be the case here. --Jake 22:03, 9 January 2013 (EST)
It not working for me in Chrome, Explorer and Firefox. I only have the pop up blocker that is included. /AleWi 23:51, 9 January 2013 (EST)
I use Firefox, the latest version. I have AdBlock plus installed but even having it disabled on simpsonswiki.net doesn't help. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 03:43, 10 January 2013 (EST)
So just to make sure that we're all on the same page (literally), you're not seeing any results when viewing this page or this page? --Jake 20:21, 11 January 2013 (EST)
Huh, I can actually see them from that page. Just not the main page. That's weird... Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 03:16, 12 January 2013 (EST)
Just noticed that only the first page of the results on those pages work, not the other pages... SolarDragonName.png (Talk - Contribs.) 03:43, 12 January 2013 (EST)
Ok, I'm noticing similar problems as well. I'll go ahead and update Piwik to see if that helps. --Jake 11:52, 12 January 2013 (EST)
It seems to be working for me after updating Piwik. Is it working for you two now as well? --Jake 11:54, 12 January 2013 (EST)
Yep, seems to be working for me too now. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 12:00, 12 January 2013 (EST)

Needs to be fixed

Click to englarge.

Hi, this needs to be fixed. Thanks :) FatHomerTalk 12:54, 19 January 2013 (EST)

FatHomer, what page are you seeing this on? I can't see the same error. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 13:25, 19 January 2013 (EST)
I seeing that error when the window is not full screen. Try to shrink the window and you see. /AleWi 13:46, 19 January 2013 (EST)
This happens for me as well. I'm on Google Chrome. --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount) 19:07, 19 January 2013 (EST)
Me too. It gets even worse the thinner you make the window. (All the other icons on the right jumble up as well.) --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 02:09, 20 January 2013 (EST)

Offline

Wikisimpsons has gone offline for two brief spells today, the first starting around 7pm, the second around 8pm. What happened? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 16:01, 12 February 2013 (EST)

It looked like it was just a normal service interruption due to an unexpected server issue. Whenever one of these occurs, please just send me an email at jake@simpsonswiki.net. It's the fastest and most reliable way to contact me, and I can usually have everything up and running again within a few minutes. --Jake 23:28, 12 February 2013 (EST)

Tumblr

We have an account on tumblr now, I have invite you. Can you create a cname for tumblr.simpsonswiki.net to domains.tumblr.com We not need to update our domain's nameservers. /AleWi 15:43, 14 February 2013 (EST)

I've submitted the update to the domain name registry. It should start working within a few hours. --Jake 16:38, 14 February 2013 (EST)

TOCU

Something's going wrong with the TOCU template. See the problem here. Do you know what the problem is? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 07:20, 27 May 2013 (EDT)

piwik

The piwik will not working since yesterday. No information is saved. /AleWi 15:28, 7 July 2013 (EDT)

I've been working on this since Solar Dragon told me about it yesterday. It should be working properly as of now and the stat tracking will be back to normal starting tomorrow. --Jake 19:56, 7 July 2013 (EDT)

Search

Whenever you search for something, no results come up. Example here. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 06:25, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

Yeah, that happens every once in a while after a server reboot. I usually fix it within a few hours, so no need to let me know when this happens. --Jake 11:47, 15 July 2013 (EDT)
The search function never works for me. FatHomerTalk 07:46, 25 July 2013 (EDT)

Template:E

I've already asked Solar about this, but he couldn't provide a solution so: for some reason, the template won't accept the characters "+" and "=". Is there a way to fix this? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 09:33, 15 August 2013 (EDT)

Jake, will you respond to this please? It's been nearly two weeks since I asked this. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 09:29, 26 August 2013 (EDT)
Sorry, must have missed this. As far as I know, there's no work around to this. It's just how the MediaWiki URL parser works. --Jake 22:02, 26 August 2013 (EDT)
Hmm, now I don't know what to do with the Comic strips template. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 07:39, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

Image problem

Hello there, Jake. There is problems with images on the wiki at the moment, likely affected by the server move... I have noticed that it seems to be affecting images with "special characters" (eg é, í, etc.).

Here is a list I have found with the problem: File:Andy García.jpg, File:Blue Öyster Cult.jpg, File:Georg Hólm.jpg, File:José Canseco.jpg, File:Jónsi.jpg, File:Louie Pérez.jpg, File:Markéta Irglová.jpg, File:Orri Páll Dýrason.jpg, File:Plácido Domingo.jpg, File:Sigur Rós.jpg, File:Tré Cool.jpg, and File:Zoë Ball.jpg

If I notice some more, which will be likely, I'll be sure to message you. --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount) 04:43, 16 August 2013 (EDT)

Hi. I've taken care of these issues. If you find any more, please let me know. Thanks! --Jake 20:35, 16 August 2013 (EDT)
Speak of the devil, found some more: File:Aurélia Bruno.jpg, File:Barbara Zielińska.jpg, File:Gabriel Chávez.jpg, File:Gérard Rinaldi.jpg, File:Joëlle Guigui.jpg, File:Katrin Fröhlich.jpg, File:Robert Clivillés.png, File:Régine Teyssot.jpg, File:Vlastimil Zavřel.jpg, and File:Víctor Manuel Espinoza.jpg. --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount)
File:Ugolín.png Here's one. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 00:05, 17 August 2013 (EDT)
Here is another - File:Yes, I Canapé.png. --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount) 03:22, 18 August 2013 (EDT)
Another one: File:Vlastimil Zavřel.jpg. The Solar Dragon 17:13, 21 August 2013 (EDT)
All issues up to this point have been resolved. Thanks. --Jake 21:29, 22 August 2013 (EDT)

Strange bug with signing

Hi Jake, I've noticed a strange bug with signing recently. Sometimes when I type four tildes, it just adds the time and date and no signature. At first I thought this was just me adding a fifth but now I know otherwise after I made this talk page comment. That uses a template that also adds in the four tildes and signs automatically when substed. However, only the date has been added. I'm not sure whether this has only been happening after the server move or not. Can you look into it please? Thanks, Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 12:40, 23 August 2013 (EDT)

That's definitely strange behavior. It shouldn't be something new after the server move because none of the MediaWiki code was changed from before the move. The only change we've made is to add Cook879's SimpsonsFont extension. If this is a bug with MediaWiki, it should be resolved after we update to the latest version. Please let me know if this happens again. --Jake 10:26, 24 August 2013 (EDT)
So, I previewed a post and found the same thing happening so I am sure there were only four tildes. When I saved it, my actual signature appeared. Solar Dragon (Talk Contribs.) 11:43, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

DVD boxset art

I've already inquired Solar about this, but I thought I'd ask you as well. On my Simpsons distribution user page, I'd like, in the gallery, for when you click on (Alternate box art) in the caption, for the alternate box art to show up in the image frame-thing. Do you get what I mean? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 08:16, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

Hey Phinbart. This isn't really possible without a decent amount of Javascript or a MediaWiki extension. I've looked around to see if there are any extensions that enable this kind of behavior, and couldn't find any. I'm not great with Javascript, so I really wouldn't be the best person to ask about this either. If you can find an extension or Javascript code that would do this, send me an email and I'd be happy to look into it for you. --Jake 13:36, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

News namespace broke

Hi Jake, as you can see from Template:News, something seems broken. Can you fix it? You might also want to check the Dictionary namespace too. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 03:01, August 29, 2013 (EDT)

Yeah, I am seeing this too, dunno why it is like so though. :P --Fred (Talk Contribs. Editcount) 04:45, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
I can't think of any reason why this isn't working. The pages are still accessible if you go to them manually and it does not apply to the dictionary namespace too. I'm still looking into this. --Jake 09:37, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
Apparently they added 'news:' as a URL prefix in newer versions of MediaWiki. I've fixed this. --Jake 12:41, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
Ah, thanks. Now the only major issue is user pages... The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 12:57, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
Just wanted to note that these should now be resolved after removal of the SocialProfile extension. --Jake 22:19, September 2, 2013 (EDT)

CollapsibleBox

For some reason, the template is broke when I try it out on the Table template. Is there a fix or is there a way around this error? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 11:36, August 29, 2013 (EDT)

I'll look into it. May have something to do with the 'switch' directive extension not being updated. --Jake 09:40, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
Just also letting you know that the 'Who's Online' feature doesn't work. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 10:10, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
I've fixed the WhosOnline page. Still working on the CollapsibleBox template. --Jake 12:24, August 31, 2013 (EDT)
Thanks. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 14:58, August 31, 2013 (EDT)

Table and the Infobox

As you can see here, the second table is underneath the infobox. Is there a reason why this happens. Plus, any updates on the CollapsibleBox? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 15:40, September 6, 2013 (EDT)
