- This is the first televised appearance of the Simpsons family.
- Along with "Bathtime", part of "The Perfect Crime" and "World War III", this short appeared in "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular".
- It was also released as a bonus feature on the Season 1 DVD Box Set.
- All of the characters are unnamed, except for Lisa.
- Although Maggie speaks in this short, this isn't considered her first word. She says "Good night". Liz Georges provided her voice.
- The design of the bedrooms is notably more basic then the series design.
- Door frames are rectangular in the short, although other shorts and the television series have them as a semi-circle design.
