The Meow-Lin Monastery is a monastery that appeared in the Itchy & Scratchy episode "The Great Brawl of China".
History
The monastery is located at the top of a hill, and there is a long flight of steps leading to the entrance. The monastery has a years-long, intense martial arts training program which culminates in the trainee taking the Shaolin Aptitude Test (S.A.T.). The trainee punches holes in a paper panel, which is fed into a computer. The computer then scores the trainee in the areas of "Punching", "Kicking" and "Badass".
Scratchy comes to the monastery to train to get revenge on Itchy, who killed Scratchy's grandfather. When Scratchy completes the program, his test scores are as follows:
- 720 Punching
- 680 Kicking
- 790 Badass
After displaying Scratchy's scores, the computer pronounces him "Ready for Vengeance". Scratchy then journeys to Itchy's monastery to confront him.
Behind the Laughter
- The monastery's name is a pun on the Shaolin Monastery.
- The Shaolin Aptitude Test is a pun on the real-life college admissions test, the SAT (Scholastic Achievement Test).
