Stern Lecture Plumbing
Location Information
Use: Plumbing Business
Owner: Plumber (Unnamed)
Stern Lecture Plumbing is a business located in Springfield. It is owned and operated by an unnamed Plumber, whose business slogan (as seen on his van) is "I told you not to flush that."

Homer meets the Plumber when a pipe in his basement springs a leak, flooding the basement with a foot of water and trapping Snowball II, to Marge's concern. The Plumber says that it'll take two or three weeks to get the parts he needs to fix the leak -- and that's if he orders the parts the same day, which he isn't going to do. The Plumber's pager then starts beeping, and the message on it is "LOW BATTERY." Saying he's got an emergency call, the Plumber leaves and says that until he comes back, they can just put a pan in the basement. Homer tries it and the only thing that happens is that the pan floats away, angering Homer and prompting him to add Stern Lecture Plumbing to his Revenge List.

It turns out that the Plumber is a member of the Stonecutters and gives preferential service to fellow members, in sharp contrast to his usual indifferent service. After Homer joins the Stonecutters, the Plumber makes a return visit to the Simpson basement. At first, the Plumber tries to give Homer another brush-off, saying that since he never got around to ordering the parts, it's still going to be a couple of weeks before he can fix the leak. After he and Homer identify themselves as Stonecutters (by exchanging the secret handshake and showing their Stonecutter T-shirts), the Plumber fixes the leak with one turn of his pipe wrench, reaches into the water, and within seconds pulls out a sputtering-but-safe Snowball II.
