Comic Information
Genre: Comedy
First appearance: More Bongos That Time Forgot

The Adventures of Martin and Louis is a comedy comic starring Martin Prince and Louis Clark.

Description

"What a classic duo! Bongo was so sure of their future success with this pair that they had 13 writers working day and night to produce their comics. However, the bottom fell out of this comedy barrel when a cease-and-desist order was filed by lawyers representing the other comedy duo with the same name. Yes, that's right--Broadway's Peter Pan, Mary Martin, and boxing great Joe Louis."

Behind the Laughter

The name of the comic, and the reference to another comedy duo, is a reference to Martin and Lewis, which consisted of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The description also refers to Mary Martin, who starred in the 1954 musical Peter Pan, and boxer Joe Louis.
