Cultural references
- On the title Bart is dressed light an old English cop, complete with a nightstick. Homer is dressed in a black and white striped, criminal's outfit.
- When Homer tries to consult the manual on how to deal with a meltdown, he mentions that he should've listened to Lenny when he told Homer "not to use a Fruit Roll-Up as a bookmark.
- As the meltdown is about to happen, Homer mentions that if he remembers his traing right, that they'll either become "shriveled up zombies or 50-foot tall goliaths." This is a reference to the film Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.
