  • At the beginning of the comic, Homer dreams he is on Jeopardy!
  • Four of the death trap buttons are labelled "Lions", "Tigers", "Bears" and "Oh my!", referencing the famous line from the film The Wizard of Oz.
  • One of the death traps is "James Cameron Academy Award acceptance speech on a continuous loop", referring to his acceptance speech for best director in 1998 for Titanic.
