A Springfield Christmas Carol is a comic story featured in Simpsons Comics #52. The comic has later get reprint in The Simpsons: Holiday Humdinger, Simpsons Classics #26 and The Best of The Simpsons #25.

Plot

Roger Meyers, Jr. contacts Abe Simpson to make a replacement for the annual show "The Happy Little Elves Save Christmas" but as usual the script is written by Bart and Lisa.

The episode starts at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant where the workers are slaving through the holiday. Meanwhile the owner, C. Montgomery Scrooge is counting his coins in his office. An overworked Homer Cratchit gets visited by his companion, Ozmodiar and tells Ozmodiar he wants to rekindle the magic of Christmas for Scrooge. Later at night, Ozmodiar is about to take Scrooge on a mystic tour of his misspent life but Scrooge calls his own sidekick, Smilin' Joe Fission. The two pixies start fighting until the world explodes.

Roger Meyers, Jr. is impressed with the script but when December arrives, The Happy Little Elves is shown instead. Abe enjoys the show and mistakenly believes he wrote it.
