The Prime of Miss Lisa Simpson is a comic story featured in Simpsons Comics #44. The comic later got reprinted in Simpsons Comics Madness, Simpsons Classics #23 and The Best of The Simpsons #25.

Plot

Bart creates a newspaper story in which he claims all the teachers at Springfield Elementary are illegal immigrants resulting in their deportation. The school's response is to replace all the teachers with the highest achieving student in each class, thus leaving Martin Prince, Jr. and Lisa Simpson as the new teachers. Naturally, despite their effort, the students do not respect them. Lisa's biggest problem is helping Ralph Wiggum achieve a passing grade but notices he easily remembers everything he watches on television. Lisa instead records her lessons and presents them to the class on TV while Martin promises his class monetary rewards if they listen. Both techniques successfully motivate the students and the grades increase. However, all the teachers return and everything goes back to normal, except Bart is now the bus driver.
