The later movies, especially V and VI, are often lampooned due to the characters' obvious increasing age and the accelerating weight gain by the cast, especially Scotty and Uhura. Kirk's introduction included his complaint "the ship is cold and drafty", again a shot at old people, and Scotty's inability to reach the control panel a reflection of the real Scotty's weight gain.
