- The comics title and plot are taken from the 1956 movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
- While Homer is running from the pod people he briefly talks to a man named Pete Benson. Pete tells Homer that he's being chased by a horde of zombies and heads for an abandoned shopping mall, a la Dawn of the Dead.
- Pete Benson is an employee at Bongo Comics.
