Captain Corndog's Schnitzel Palace is a fast food restaurant that sells corndogs in Fast-Food Boulevard, Springfield. It is Homer Simpson's favorite restaurant on the boulevard.
History
Just before starting a new diet, Homer took a drive to Fast-Food Boulevard for a junk food binge and to say goodbye to the things he wouldn't be able to eat while on the diet. When he first entered the boulevard, he looked out his window at Captain Corndog's and said, "I think I'll miss you most of all, Captain Corndog's Schnitzel Palace."
Among other places, Homer stopped at Krusty Burger, where he was enthralled by a wastebasket in the drive-thru and took the opportunity to get rid of all the accumulated trash in his car. Among the items he disposed of was a leaky car battery. Acid from the battery seeped into the ground and dripped onto an underground gas main, eating a hole in the pipe and causing a gas leak. After Homer finished throwing out his trash, he lit a cigar and tossed the lit match into the wastebasket, igniting the leaking gas and triggering a chain-reaction series of explosions that destroyed every restaurant on Fast-Food Boulevard, including Captain Corndog's Schnitzel Palace.
