Things Unnecessary is a shop at "Springfield Heights Promenade". It sells various unnecessary things, which cost too much, such as the Astrolabe, which talks about famous people birthdays, famous quotes and had a fire alarm. Homer spent the money he was going to spend on a Christmas tree on an Astrolabe.
