Santa's little Helper is The Simpson's dog. He is a greyhound.
The simpsons got him after he lost repeatedly at springfield downs and he was thrown out and picked up by homer and Bart.
In the episode Two dozen and one Greyhounds he has 26 Puppies with another Greyhound from the springfield downs, whose never seen leaving the simpsons but is only seen in that episode.
