Cultural references
- The title of the comic is a reference to the 1938 gangster film Angels with Dirty Faces.
- Sideshow Bob tries to buy a Zagnut bar.
- The entire scene in which Bob applies for a loan is a reference to the film Psycho.
- The person Bob talks to about applying for the loan is Marion Crane, a major character from the film.
- Marion is seen nervously dropping a large wad of bills into a bag, a reference to the film wherein her onscreen counterpart steals $40,000.
- As Marion runs off a speaker on her desk confirms her reservation at the Bates Motel, which is the major setting of the film.
- While the bullies spray paint Bob's van, Nelson says he was planning to spray paint "some weird robots and a one-eyed alien chick" he saw on FOX, a reference to Futurama, and more specifically the characters Bender and Leela.
