Behind the Laughter

On August 22, 2014, showrunner Al Jean tweeted a picture of Lena Dunham and Dan Castellaneta with the caption saying that Dunham would be guest starring for the season 27 premiere. However, season 27 had yet to be confirmed and Jean later deleted the tweet.[1]

On January 9, 2015, Dunham's role and episode appearance were confirmed.[2]
