TV Show Information
|
Teleboobies is a children's educational TV show produced in Brazil.
Description
The show features the female host Xoxchitla, and her assistants, all wearing tight clothes while on stage with other cast members costumed as fruits or as animals such as lizards or flamingos. The show's format is presenting educational concepts in an entertaining (and often risqué) fashion. For example, Xoxchitla demonstrates the difference between clockwise and counter-clockwise by shaking her torso and twirling tassels attached to her breasts. Among the cast members is Ronaldo, who works as Flamenco Flamingo.[1]
History
The Simpsons saw Teleboobies when they stayed in a hotel in Rio de Janeiro while searching for Lisa's pen pal Ronaldo. Bart was enraptured by Xoxchitla's tassel-twirling demonstration of the difference between clockwise and counter-clockwise.[1]
When Homer was refereeing the World Cup soccer matches in Brazil, one of the games was in Rio, and Bart again watched Teleboobies on TV.[2]
Behind the Laughter
- Teleboobies is a direct parody of the very famous Brazilian Rede Globo's Xou da Xuxa.
- The show's title is a pun on the British children's series Teletubbies.
