Season 23 RecapThis goes down as one of the worse Simpsons seasons so far. I knew season 22 wasn't amazing and seasons 20 and 21 were both okay and the best out of the post-classic era (or one of the best), but the show has taken another turn for the worse. Even if they celebrated 500 episodes this past year, half those episodes were good, but another half were okay or bad. It's frustrating to watch when you know that you won't like it usually. Several episodes got zero points (four) and several got one (also four). Only three episodes gained my heart to give a five, so you know right away I wasn't a fan of this season. The worse stretch of season 23 had to be from Politically Inept, with Homer Simpson - Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart, right before the best stretch. Instead this streak of worst episodes was At Last Long Leave, the 500th episode. I ranked it a 3/5, so I don't know if the Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart will count toward the stretch. I will count it anyways though. Of the 30 points that can be received, the show received a whopping seven points out of thirty. This has to be one of the worse stretches of the series, for me again. A few other stretches like The Falcon and the D'ohman - The Food Wife scored nine out of twenty-five, with two zeroes involved. A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again - Ned n Edna's Blend Agenda scored seven out of twenty. The best stretch was from How I Wet Your Mother - Beware My Cheating Bart, with collected 14 points out of the 15 available. Also, there weren't guest stars thrown in your face and everywhere in these episodes, unlike most of the other ones added for one appearance or not specific reason at all. Of the combined 22 episodes, it will take 40 points to be a successful season, 80 points to be the best season in the post-classic era and about 100 points to be the best season (or up in that category) ever. The show got a combined 52 points for season 23, hardly passing seasons 15 and 16 to not become the worse in my opinion for Simpsons history. Season 24, however, that looks to be one of the best seasons in the post-classic era, just looking at the summaries. We will get to see the Pin Pals again, which will be a big plus for me. More Itchy and Scratchy Land, despite it closing down and hopefully, we get less guest stars and get to see some older characters or things we haven't seen for a while.
