After Bart started receiving death threats from his nemesis Sideshow Bob, the Simpsons entered the Witness Relocation Program. They were given a convertible, their surname was changed to Thompson, and they were relocated to Terror Lake on a houseboat docked at a pier in the lake. However, Sideshow Bob had been hiding under their convertible. Once settled in their new home, Bob sneaked onboard the family's houseboat and cut the line with a machete, causing the boat to float off into the swamp.
