Requirements for bureaucrat nominees are:
- Users cannot nominate themselves.
- Nominees must be an active contributor to WikiSimpsons, being active at least in the last few days.
- As well, nominees ought to have more than 2000 contributions and should already have some sort of status within the wiki. If no one with status has been active in the last few months, then this rule should not be followed.
- Nominees should demonstrate good understanding of WikiSimpsons policies, style, and conventions.
- Before a user is nominated, he or she must be asked if they will accept the nomination. If not, that user will not be nominated.
- Only confirmed users are able to vote.
