Ulysses is a 1922 modernist novel by Irish novelist and poet James Joyce.

Written in a stream of consciousness style, the story follows Leopold Bloom's encounters in Dublin in a single day, Tuesday, June 16, 1904 as a more mundane version of Ulysses/Odysseus in Homer's epic poem: The Odyssey. June 16th has become known as Bloomsday.
