The page to request admin rights.

Requirements

  • Nominees must be a fairly active contributor to WikiSimpsons, being active at least in the last six weeks
    • As well, nominees ought to have more than 200 contributions, with at least 50% being in the mainspace.
  • Nominees should demonstrate good understanding of WikiSimpsons policies, style, and conventions.
  • Before a user is nominated, he or she must be asked if they will accept the nomination. If not, that user will not be nominated.
  • If a request is turned down, there must be at least a months wait before that user can be renominated.

Be aware that sockpuppeting or getting friends to vote in the last minute will not be tolerated.

You have to explain why you want the rights and what you will do with them in order to be accepted.

I would like administrator rights so I can use the tools to clean up the locations (particularly the categories) as Project Leader.Underfaker 19:18, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

Questions

  1. What has been your best contribution to the site so far?
  2. Why do you think you would make a good admin?
  3. How would being an admin help you with your daily editing?
  4. Do you have any previous admin experiences? If so, where and can you provide links?

Answers

  1. My greatest contribution is probably getting "Behind the Scenes" changed to "Behind the Laughter". Other notable contributions include the featured quote on the main page and the new comprehensive article system.
  2. I have proven that I only want Wikisimpsons looking its best.
  3. Again, I have centralized most of my attention at the moment on locations and I am leader of the project. So the tools would help me at my tasks.

Support

  1. Support due to user being very helpful and determined to make a difference to the wiki, particulary in locations. Kingcjc 19:37, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
  2. I support too. He suggested many good things for the wiki. He speaks and acts like an administrator. And as an administrator he could delete all useless categories. — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 20:44, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Support I'm not particularly happy with your answers to the questions. It's a chance to show why you would be a good admin, and it seems like you didn't put a lot of thought into it. That being said, I think you have shown need for the tools. -- Brian McClure 17:17, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Comments

  • Could you expand on answer 2 please. Also, you just asked someone with a bot to change Behind the Scenes to Behind the Alughter, you didn't do it yourself by the way. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 21:02, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

I don't feel so good at nominating myself. But, Brian McClure suggested me to try again. To answer Brian's questions above, I think (but I'm not sure) my greatest contributions to the wiki so far would be improving game level articles, improving "not-so-pretty-looking" articles and fixing templates with some errors (like the season templates). I think I would make a good administrator because I'd edit more than usual, help new users and delete vandalism when I see it. How would being an admin help me with my daily editing? Well, I sometimes have some "ideas" to do with some articles, but I sometimes fear someone reverts it if he doesn't like it. That's why I always consult. As an administrator, I would have more "confidence" and go on with my ideas. And, no, I don't have any other administrator experiences. The nearest would be being Rollback here. Besides, Solar said he would be less active, so I would work when he's not here. — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 20:55, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
