Plot[edit]

Lisa falls asleep while trying to write the perfect letter. She is awakened when Snowball knocks a book onto her head. Realizing the time, she races outside to try and catch the Ned, the letter carrier. Before she can catch up to him, he proceeds through a door far too small for Lisa to fit through. Nearby, she discovers a very small envelope that says "Read Me." When she tries to read the miniscule writing, she shrinks down to a size that fits through the door.

Lisa finds herself in a dense jungle where she encounters two talking dinosaurs. One is a Brontosaurus and the other is a Thesaurus. The Thesaurus speaks uses multiple words and phrases for each statement, which causes his speech bubbles to squash Lisa. She runs away from him and continues to chase the letter carrier.

Lisa catches up to Ned at a tea party being held by the Man Who Swallowed a Dictionary (portrayed by Sideshow Bob), who is very verbose and the Spelling Bee (Bumblebee Man), who spells everything he says. After Ned tells a story about a little ink drop, he and Lisa proceed together to deliver letters. They reach Backwords Country, where Bob and Otto speak only in palindromes. After, Ned and Lisa must split up while Ned goes through the Forbidden Words. Lisa takes a detour through the Land of the Crosswords. Here she encounters two personified crosswords (Patty and Selma) who are on the way to a funeral for another cross word.

Lisa and Ned meet up again on a giant Scrabble board where all the letter tiles are people. I (Mr. Burns), who owns the gaming grounds, has U (Smithers), his lackey, disemvowel Y (Hans Moleman) for questioning him. Lisa and Ned must join the game at this point. When Lisa plays a word, the letters rearrange themselves and she gets accused of cheating. She gets enraged at this and starts growing until she flips the boards over and all the letter tiles go flying. It is then that she wakes up and realizes the whole thing was a dream.
