Maggie's Crib is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #66.
Synopsis[edit]
Maggie's imagination turns a sandbox in the park into a jungle filled with dinosaurs.
Plot[edit]
Marge and Maggie are in the park, and Maggie is in the sandbox playing with a bucket and shovel. A red-haired woman comes along and puts her baby girl (who has a toy dinosaur, a Tyrannosaurus) into the sandbox with Maggie. As Maggie watches the other girl playing with her dinosaur, in her imagination she sees a jungle filled with dinosaurs and herself as an adventurer making her way through the jungle with a machete.
The other dinosaurs see something in the jungle and run away, and Maggie notices a Tyrannosaurus behind her. She quickly crawls away, with the T-Rex chasing after her. Maggie sees a vine, grabs it and swings across a sandy clearing in the jungle. The T-Rex continues pursuing Maggie and walks into the clearing, but then quickly sinks, as the clearing is actually quicksand. Still clinging to the vine, Maggie smiles at her enemy's demise.
Back in reality, the other baby's toy dinosaur is nowhere to be seen, but Maggie is using her shovel to pat down an area in the middle of the sandbox. As her mother picks her up, the other baby cries and points at the spot that Maggie is patting down, indicating that Maggie has buried her toy dinosaur in the sand.
