The Itchy & Scratchy Show Episode Information
|
"The Battle of Slaughter-Loo" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show. This cartoon was heavily censored for prison viewing to the disappointment of Bart and the other kids at the Springfield Juvenile Correctional Facility.
Plot[edit]
The cartoon opens on a battlefield with Itchy and Scratchy leading opposing army of look-alikes; Itchy is trying to enslave the animals of the land for the crown whilst Scratchy army wants to free them from slavery to the crown.
As Itchy and Scratchy's armies run towards each other on the battlefield, they pull out bigger and better weapons. Just as the two armies meet, the screen goes blank, showing where the cartoon was censored for the "prison edit".
After a few seconds of a blank screen and film leader, the episode cuts Itchy decarling victory after the "spectacular 3D blood and gore" at the cartoon.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The film is a parody of the 1995 movie, Braveheart, with Itchy playing the role of the King Edward I "Longshanks" as a cruel King enslaving the people, and Scratchy playing the role of William Wallace as the leader of the rebellion against him. Scratchy's cry of "for freedom" before the battle begins, directly references Wallace doing the same in the film.
