Movie Information

Love Story is a romance film, starring Ryan O'Neal as Oliver Barrett IV and Ali MacGraw as Jenny Cavalleri.
History[edit]
Unable to sleep, Homer watched a late-night talk show where Charlie Rose was interviewing Robert Evans about his work. Rose asked Evans to talk about Love Story.[1]
Marge chose the film to rent at Lackluster Video, much to the annoyance of Bart. The family then watched it together, with Bart and Lisa interrupting the film and nitpicking the storyline.[2]
Plot[edit]
In the film, Barrett asked, "What do you say about a 25-year-old girl who died?" to which Bart responded, "I say bury her before she starts to smell!"
In another scene, Cavalleri said, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Lisa quickly contradicted the line and said the movie was drivel.
Near the end of the film, Cavalleri died. Barrett then started to speak, but Bart used the TV's "picture-in-picture" feature to put on a clip of Krusty the Clown, which spoke over Barrett. At that point, Homer and Marge gave up on the movie, realizing that their attempt to create a romantic mood had been spoiled.[2]
