The episode "The Wedding" was nominated for Best Writing in a Cartoon Series at the Annual Cartoon Awards held at the Springfield Civic Center but lost to Itchy & Scratchy's "Little Barbershop of Horrors."

Strongdar, Master of Akom is a parody of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. "Akom" refers to Akom Production Co., one of the Korean production companies for The Simpsons.
