In "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em...", the mall is shown in a dilapidated state. Many major stores, like JCPenney, are run down and out of business. However in "G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)", a mere two episodes later, the mall is thriving again. In The Simpsons Road Rage, the player can drive around inside the Springfield Mall. In The Simpsons Game, Kang and Kodos are invading the Springfield Mall.
