Style Guide: Crew
MattGroening.png

The following is a style guide on how to create a high quality crew page, and is part of our Manual of Style.

Aims[edit]

This style guide aims to help you write articles on all The Simpsons crew members.

Structure of an article[edit]

Infobox[edit]

All crew articles must have this infobox:

{{Crew
|name= Name
|image= Image
|gender= Male or Female
|job= Main role(s)
|birthdate= If full date, and still alive, use <code>{{birthdate|year|month|day}}</code>
|deathdate= If full birth and death date, use <code>{{deathdate|death year|month|day|birth year|month|date}}</code>
|status=Active, Inactive or One time
|episodes=Number of episodes worked on
|other media= Number of other media worked on
|short= For one short credit only
|first short= First short
|latest short= Last short
|episode= For one episode credit only
|first episode= First episode
|latest episode= Latest episode
|movie= If worked on the movie
|game= For one game credit only
|first game= First game
|latest game= Latest game
|comic= For one comic credit only
|first comic= First comic
|latest comic= Latest comic
|book= For one book credit only
|first book= First book
|latest book= Latest book
|music= For one music video/album only
|first music= First music video
|latest music=Latest music video
}}

Please note that any unnecessary fields may be removed.

Credits[edit]

The main part of the article will be the credits section. Each credited role should have it's own section. If there are a large number of credits, then a scroll box should be used.

Navboxes and categories[edit]

Many job roles should have a navbox and this should add a category. For a list of current navboxes see Wikisimpsons:Navboxes#Cast & Crew. For a list of categories see Category:Cast and crew.

External links[edit]

All crew member should have an IMDB page, linkable through {{IMDB|link}}, where link is everything past "http:www.imdb.com/". Some may have Wikipedia pages, which is applied through {{Wikipedialink}}. Note that no extra info is needed provided Wikipedia's page share's the same title as ours. Other acceptable links include the person's website and their Twitter page.

Other[edit]

  • If the article is lacking information, then add {{Crew stub}} to the end of the article.
  • Every crew's talk page should have {{Talkheader}} followed by {{Article Style Guide Crew}}.
