Scottsdale is a city in Arizona. At one point Gil lived there and even held a successful career.
History
Gil becomes a very successful real estate agent after moving to Scottsdale. Prior to his move he had been staying at the Simpson's house. Homer had been pressuring Marge to tell Gil to leave, but she was unable to do it. By the time she finally felt ready, Gil had already left to Scottsdale where he became a successful real estate agent. Still feeling the need to vent her frustations on Gil, Marge and the family decide to follow him to Arizona.
When they finally catch up to him, Marge lets out all her anger on Gil, whose cowardly nature is revealed in the process. As a result, Gil is fired from the real estate agency and moves back to Springfield.
