Release the Hounds! is a Simpsons Comics One-Shot Wonders story first printed in The Malevolent Mr. Burns #1.
Plot
As a teenager, Burns wants to go on a fox hunt but is not allowed by the older boys because he lacks the hunter's instinct. They let him instead take care of Nipper, the runt of the litter. Burns sees similarities between him and Nipper and they decide to get revenge for not being allowed on the hunt. The hunt goes on in the forest and the dogs are barking but when they hear an unfamiliar dog barking at a high volume, they become scared and run away. It turns out Nipper was barking into a megaphone. The hunters then discover something better than fox, money that is on the ground. They follow it to see where it leads for pick it up later. It ends at the club pool which the hunters and their horses end up. Burns teases the hunters and a reporter from Fox News takes a photo of Burns for tomorrow's paper. Burns shows the article to his dogs, and says that it was the story of their ancestor Nipper who is stuffed and mounted for he had bitten a taxidermist. Burns then sends the hounds away to hunt Ned who had come to collect money for the church and didn't want to leave. Burns tells the hound when they chase Ned that Dad loves them and have a good day at work. While Ned runs away he thanks Burns for the story.
