No problem. It is sort of confusing on this sort of thing the series is trying out recently, but it is a good idea to create a new category in regards to episodes such as the 2 I edited their pages of which are episodes that look to be like they are canon, but are actually non canon since Selman has said episodes like this are set in a different universe. I for one think it's super interesting to read that article in regards to Selman wanting to try wacky ways of changing a character and or timeline of a character for the setting of an episode which has been a thing they did in Season 32. The show has been on for so long, they want to just try ideas that seem odd, but are ways to play with viewers and fans alike into thinking the episode is canon even though it isn't. Now me personally, I'm not a fan of this sort of thing, just keep the characters already established details as is, especially if been established for a long time, and in the case of Sarah Wiggum, I would've preferred to see an episode like Chief Of Hearts with Homer and Clancy's friendship really put into the spot light, but done here with Sarah and Marge's friendship being shown on screen for an episode instead of just in a few parts of episodes such as the 2 I mentioned from Season 21 or off screen. That would've been something perfectly fine by me, since we can hear Sarah speak more and hang out with Marge and do stuff the mothers of Springfield like to do, and in Sarah's case, she seems to enjoy going to book clubs and fancy dinners, as well as cutting Ralph's hair which is cute. The whole wacky out of character backstory and personality change was needless to say not necessary to do, because the series staff know their characters and what personality is natural to them, which in Sarah's case is no more then just Clancy's fat, loving, elated, and somewhat dim wife with the personality to her character established by her actions and emotions more then dialog which is how she was developed which I'm sure you know as well. She's the perfect match to Clancy, and not some theft that only used Clancy all these years, and plus it's just too late to do something like that when she's already been established as someone not even close to being a thief or some badass chick. | No problem. ::::Alright, I also wanted to tell you that I'm not all that knowledgeable on certain things and commands on Wikipedia style websites such as this wiki yet, so apologies if I don't type something in the right place or do a right command, I'm still learning somewhat on the commands and what not on what to do on these types of websites. But on that page, If I or anyone else were to add text, would it be below one of the already existing episodes typed out? Like for example If I wanted to add what I just said above on my second message on this talk page, where would I type text out or under? Sorry If I sound stupid on these sorts of things, but like I said I 'am still learning websites like this and the commands to use and what not. Hope you understand. Episode canon
Hi, I have undone your edits regarding episode canon for now. However, this is something I'm going to look into and write up a new canon policy about. I'm going to be wanting other views to help me with this when I do. And that IGN article will also help me with this. The Solar Dragon 06:32, September 4, 2021 (EDT)
- I have written up a draft of the new canon page here. There is discussion about each episode's canon here if you want to contribute. The Solar Dragon 07:41, September 4, 2021 (EDT)
Due to the confusion in regards to episodes such as Uncut Femmes and Do PizzaBots Dream of Electric Guitars on the changes implemented, lot's of people think this is a new addition of continuity or something that will stay with the character, but that's not the case. Such as like in PizzaBots where Homer is shown as being a Teen in the 1990s when in the past its been established as him being already an Adult and married to Marge in the 1990s in the shows true universe. But this was done just for the plot of the episode likely because like I said the staff I guess they just want to try out new ideas for episodes which have never been done before, but don't intend for viewers and fans of the show to think these changes will continue such as in the next episode or when a character next appears after they have ben changed in one episode. And as for Uncut Femmes, everything about Sarah's characterization, voice change and backstory were also the same situation like in the case of Homer in PizzaBots, all done for just the setting of the plot and is something that won't continue next time she appears and or speaks. Plus it costs money to bring in a Celebrity Voice Actor such as Megan Mullaly who isn't even a recurring member either, which obviously they aren't going to do next time for Sarah, Pamala Hayden will get the role back of voicing Sarah next time she talks, and the jewelry thief, backstory and crime partners are basically a thing that never happened since they are in a separate universe then what the show normally takes place in, so those things won't ever be mentioned again or hinted about with her. Plus Sarah Wiggum isn't really a character many don't care about, but I do, and this isn't her in the episode, so the staff and crew aren't going to bring in a celebrity voice actor to voice a character that many don't care about, but why they did all this to a character that isn't important is beyond me, and quite frankly it disgusted me on what they did to Sarah here, even though this isn't something that truly happened. And as for those crime partners, minus Lindsey Nagel are one off characters that won't appear again.
But I think it is a good idea to create a category on these types of episodes that they've really been doing recently in Season 32, but they have also done it before from time to time in Seasons prior, and I'm sure upcoming Episodes in Season 33 and 34 will have a similar situation with changes to an already established characters personality, timeline and or backstory all for the sake of an episode's plot that in the end, in the next episode, will be something that basically never happened, that's if the episode afterwards returns to the normal universe of the show. Now these episodes aren't THOH non canon, but are in a different way if you know what I mean. Duderocks5539 (talk) 02:23, September 5, 2021 (EDT)
