Neil Patrick Harris (born June 15, 1973) is an American actor, director, magician, and singer, best known for his role as title character of Doogie Howser, M.D. and Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. He voiced himself in the season 3 episode "Bart the Murderer".
Harris and his roles have also been referenced in a couple of episodes:
- "Flaming Moe": After Moe makes over his bar into the gay-friendly "Mo's", he owns a dog named Neil Patrick Hairless (punning Harris's name).
- "Homer the Father": While watching the Tube Town television channel, Homer sees a show called Supreme Courtney, which is a spoof of Doogie Howser, M.D.
