Song Information
|
"Bart's Birthday Song for Lisa" is a song written and performed by Bart, for Lisa's birthday.
Lyrics[edit]
- Lisa, her teeth are big and green.
- Lisa, she smells like gasoline.
- Lisa, da-da-da-deesa.
- She is my sister.
- Her birthday, I missed-a!
History[edit]
When Bart sat down with "Michael Jackson" to write a song for Lisa's birthday, Bart first sang the "big and green" lyrics. Michael, however, was critical of the effort and told Bart that he needed to write something which showed how he really felt about Lisa. After they spent some time sitting in Bart's treehouse and observing Lisa in her bedroom, they wrote "Happy Birthday, Lisa" and performed it for her.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- Bart sings the song to the tune of the "Colonel Bogey March", which is best known for being part of the soundtrack of the film The Bridge on the River Kwai.
