Plot[edit]
It's Christmas Eve and Homer is sitting and playing a game, where he sees an offer to spend 99 credits for a reindeer protector. Homer buys 20 of them and discovers later that it costs real money, and he cannot afford to buy Christmas presents for the family anymore. Homer wonders how Bart and Lisa can afford Christmas gifts, then remembers that they are making their presents themselves, so Homer starts making his own Christmas presents in the basement. On Christmas morning, the family discovers that Homer made Christmas presents for them rather than buying presents. Bart gets a bad Krusty the Clown robot, and Lisa gets all her favorite books combined into one. Maggie gets a carousel and Marge gets a new sexy outfit. The children are angry at Homer because they think his gifts stink, but Marge reminds them that it's the thought that counts. Homer is about to leave home when he discovers that they have been snowed in. The power goes out and they sit and bask in front the only Yule log they had, which will soon burn out. Homer then comes up with an idea and makes the presents into a machine that can dig out the family. It works, and the family comes out to thank Homer. Bart says he is sorry that he did not make anything to give back to Homer, but he says that he has everything he needs, which turns out to be his family.
