Synopsis

"Professor Frink creates a 'Cool Formula' that gets accidentally dumped into the Springfield reservoir, turning every resident of Springfield into a swingin' '60s Vegas-style hipster."

Plot

Professor Frink is dating Ms. Stella at the Springfield Vanishing Point. Stella makes Frink lose his bottle of cool juice in the Springfield Water Supply. The next day, Frink discovers that everyone in Springfield is not behave like they usually do; everyone has become peculiarly cool and more festive. Frink realizes that the bottle must have gotten mixed with the water in the supply and understands that he needs to get people to become normal again. The cool residents of Springfield hear Frink's plans and start chasing him because they do not want to be normal again. Frink manages to get away and get to the Springfield Public Library, where he finds three of the city's young nerds, Martin, Database and Lisa, who are not affected by the cool water. Frink tells them that he has his antidote in his laboratory and needs to take the residents of Springfield there. Lisa gets an idea and starts playing her saxophone, and the residents of Springfield begins to follow her. Bart tells them that they are nerds and the residents of Springfield begin to chase them. Lisa steals Database's glasses and puts them on Bart's eyes, and tells them that he is a nerd and they start chasing him instead. The nerds run into the lab to get the antidote when Barney comes to the lab to beat up Frink, but he starts to think Frink is funny and makes jokes as Lisa mixes the antidote into his drink, and when he drinks it, he becomes normal again. Bart has come to the lab and the mob is still chasing him. Frink tricks Bart into shooting himself with his slingshot. Frink uses Bart's slingshot to shoot the antidote at the mob, and everyone goes back to as normal again. Frink and Stella break up and Krusty performs for Mr. Burns because he wrote a contract when he was cool.
