How did you find Wikisimpsons?

Phinbart: I wondered whether there was a Simpsons Wiki on Wikia so I typed in an address, and found it. When it moved to ShoutWiki, I created an account and started contributing.

Cook879: I found it on Wikia.

Doh5678: My dad asked me something obscure about the Simpsons which I didn't know so I looked it up and discovered this wiki. I started editing here and moved with the wiki over to ShoutWiki.

Supergeeky1: Like most of the users here, I discovered Wikisimpsons while it was a Wikia project. I've been a collector of The Simpsons merchandise since the late '90s, and having written the majority of Wikipedia's World of Springfield article, I decided creating a wiki dedicated to Simpsons merchandise would be tremendously useful to both myself and the many members of the Simpsons Collector Sector. I soon proposed such a wiki to Wikia around 2006 (back when they still used a request system for new wikis instead of automatic creation), but the request was denied and I was forwarded by staff to create such articles on Wikisimpsons.

What motivated you to edit?

Phinbart: The fact that I love the Simpsons, and it was such a good wiki.

Cook879: God knows, this was years ago.

Doh5678: Because I like The Simpsons and I needed something constructive to do on the computer. I also noticed it needed to be improved a bit.

Supergeeky1: At the time, I had also just begun editing Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki. As Wikisimpsons was relatively new at the time, a lot of the detailed information and encyclopedic approach that I was accustomed to on Wookieepedia was completely missing from this wiki. I genuinely wanted to see a more in-depth series of articles, which is why I began improving them myself.

During your time at this wiki, have you noticed anything particularly good about it? Anything bad?

Phinbart: I noticed when I first started that the comics needed work on it, but now I and several other users are helping with it.

Cook879: The users are great and work well together and create great content which are increasingly being viewed by more and more users. Our weak point has to be comics and other media outside the episodes and shorts.

Doh5678: The admin team is top notch and the fact we have users from a variety of countries.

Supergeeky1: Most of the things that fell into the "bad" category have been improved within the past few years. I've noticed a great amount of communal effort in raising the quality of the articles, which is especially evident since the site went independent. A lot of this can be credited to the administration and, in particular, Solar Dragon. It's this increasing effort that's inspired me to resume editing the wiki once again.

Are you member of any other wikis?

Phinbart: I am a member of the German wiki, the Fanon wiki and the Merchandise Wiki, along with Fish Hooks Wiki, a website I created.

Cook879: Not really, just our network.

Doh5678: I am a member of the German wiki, the Fanon wiki and the Merchandise Wiki. I am also a member of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.

Supergeeky1: I'm an administrator on Darthipedia and founder of another wiki called Arkhampedia. I occasionally help with the wiki farm ShoutWiki, plus I'm also in the process of creating a wiki farm dedicated to parody wikis.

Do you own any Simpsons merchandise?

Phinbart: Yes, I own a few bits and pieces of Simpsons merchandise. I own about half the boxset, some figures, two bendable sets, a doughnut maker, and a mug. There will be more somewhere in my house.

Cook879:Quite a few old comics, some DVDs, some other bits and pieces.

Doh5678: The Simpsons Game, The Simpsons Road Rage, The Simpsons Movie on DVD, Simpsons Pyjamas, Season 1 & 3 on DVD and a Simpsons poster. I probably have loads more things.

Supergeeky1: I have an entire room dedicated to merchandise. I own all but a couple of the Playmates action figures, all of the McFarlane action figures, the first twelve seasons and the movie on DVD, several of the video games, books, comics, cardboard cut-outs, clothing, foreign mirrors, magazines, and various other merchandise, not to mention a bit of bootleg merchandise.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Phinbart: This wiki is a great wiki dedicated to the Simpsons, and as we approach 10,000 articles, this wiki is hopefully to be named the Greatest Simpsons Fan Site Ever!

Cook879: Phinbart needs help cleaning his donut machine turned candy floss machine without blowing it up.

Doh5678: I do the interviews on the newsletter.
