Late for School is a Simpsons Comics One-Shot Wonders story first printed in Li'l Homer #1.
Once when Homer was young he missed the school bus, but because it was Taco Tuesday, he realized that he did not want to miss school, so he started to ride his bike, but since Homer foundnd it to bike, he tied his slingshot to the rear of a car. It seemed like a good idea in the beginning, but Homer took a wrong turn and ended up in Ogdenville. Homer could not get his slingshot unstuck from the car, and he didn't stop until he crashed into a barley field in Odgenville. Homer's bike broke down, so he started to walk back home and didn't care about school, but since Ogdenville is so far from Springfield he came home first thing in the morning. When Homer told his father what happened, he missed the school bus again.
