The Stinging Red Jellyfish is a species of jellyfish that returns to Springfield every year on the "third Tuesday of May sweeps." The people of Springfield celebrate its return with the annual Jellyfish Festival.
Trivia
- The return of the Jellyfish is based on the Cliff Swallow, which returns to San Juan Capistrano, California around the same time every year.
