Springfield Gorge, "the third most beautiful gorge in the state", has made a few appearances. In Bart The Daredevil, Bart wants to jump across the gorge on his skateboard, Evil Kneivel-style. Instead, Homer almost makes the jump. There is a callback to this scene in The Simpsons Movie, with Homer and Bart jumping the gorge on a motorcycle.
According to the Simpsons Guide, there is a section of the Gorge called "Homer's leap," dedicated to a local man who fell down the gorge twice in one afternoon.
