One Thousand and One Vulgar Marching Band Formations is a banned band book owned by Springfield Elementary.

History

When Lisa was showing the school the hidden classroom, there was a book shelf in there instead. This book was on it.

Background

"Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon," Groening told Smithsonian. In addition to the slang term referencing a part of a woman's anatomy, the formation on the cover may also be a reference to Oregon State University in Corvallis, their mascot is the beaver. Oregon State University is a rival college of the University of Oregon, located in Eugene, just across the highway from Springfield. Every year is a Civil War football game, the Ducks versus the Beavers.
